Conference side Southport have signed Nathan Ellington on a free transfer,.

The veteran striker had been training with Crewe Alexandra where he spent last season, but failed to earn a new deal with the League One side.

He failed to score in eight games for the Alex, while he also failed to hit the net in recent spells with Scunthorpe United and Ipswich Town.

Bar a brief loan spell with Skoda Xanthi in the Greek Super League in 2010, the 32 year old spent his entire fourteen year professional career in the English football league.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has signed a long-term contract extension at Anfield, the Premier League club have confirmed.

Mignolet joined Liverpool from Sunderland in June 2013 and has made 122 appearances for the club in all competitions, missing only three league games during this period.

The length of the agreement was not officially disclosed but Omnisport understands the Belgium international s deal runs until the end of the 2020-21 season.

Mignolet s position as Jurgen Klopp s number one goalkeeper has come under scrutiny due to some inconsistent performances this term, but the 27-year-old is pleased to have secured his future on Merseyside.

Goals from Joaquin Correa and Ciro Immobile helped Lazio to a 2-1 win at AC Milan on Sunday that saw them climb to fourth in the Serie A table.

The victory was Lazio s first away from home against Milan in Serie A since September 1989, ending a 29-match winless run in the fixture.
